Gerrit Jan Doeleman was born on 17 October 1926 in Aalten. He obtained his HBS-A secondary-school diploma in 1945 and his teaching qualification in 1947. He then worked as a teacher in Barlo and IJzerlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doeleman continued his studies and obtained teaching qualifications in English at primary level and in Dutch and German at secondary level. He subsequently became a teacher at the MULO secondary school in Aalten<\/a>. Former pupils remembered him, among other things, as a geography teacher. After the reorganisation of secondary education, he worked at the HAVO-Atheneum school in Aalten. He took early retirement in 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On 1 August 1950 he married Johanna Ter Horst in Aalten. Alongside his work in education, Doeleman was involved with horses and carriage driving. He held a qualification to teach horse driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
