Mayor (1818\u20131861) and Notary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Arnoldus Florentinus Roelvink was born on 23 December 1789 in Borculo, the son of Bernard Andreas Roelvink and Harmina Abbink. On 12 November 1817, he married Elzab\u00e9 Maria Theodora ten Cate (Neede, 21 July 1798) in Bredevoort; she was the daughter of Tieleman ten Cate and Anna Jacoba Roelvink. The couple had seven children together. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roelvink was a notary, and following the French period<\/a>, he was also appointed in 1813 as the first mayor of the municipality of Bredevoort. When this municipality was merged with Aalten in 1818, Roelvink became the mayor of the merged municipality of Aalten. He held this position until his death on 6 January 1861. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roelvink lived with his family in the villa at ‘t Zand in Bredevoort, which is known today as Sint Bernardus<\/a>. Roelvinkstraat in Bredevoort is named after him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roelvink was succeeded as mayor of Aalten by his son, Mr Leonard Roelvink<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
