{"id":143930,"date":"2021-07-03T22:05:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-03T20:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/aalten-achteruit\/abraham-antonij-stumph\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T00:03:58","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T22:03:58","slug":"abraham-antonij-stumph","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/en\/society\/population\/biography\/abraham-antonij-stumph\/","title":{"rendered":"Abraham Antonij Stumph"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"is-style-text-subtitle has-large-font-size is-style-text-subtitle--1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Public notary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abraham Antonij Stumph was born on February 4, 1784, in Aalten, as the son of the first mayor of Aalten, <a href=\"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/en\/government\/mayors\/christiaan-casper-stumph\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Christiaan Casper Stumph<\/a>, and Jeanne Lesturgeon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abraham Antonij Stumph passed away on July 23, 1818, in Aalten. He had drowned in the <a href=\"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/omgeving\/infrastructuur\/de-slingerbeek\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Slingebeek<\/a> at the age of 34. Local folklore suggested that his death was related to a broken heart. His body was buried on the family estate <a href=\"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/dale\/smees\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8216;t Smees<\/a>, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/en\/aalten\/burial-mound-nannielaantje\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">burial mound<\/a> on the Nannielaantje.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"231\" src=\"https:\/\/oldaalten.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Notaris-A.A.-Stumph-Staatkundig-Dagblad-van-het-Departement-van-den-Boven-IJssel-10-03-1812-800x231.jpg\" alt=\"Notary A.A.
