Aalten, 21 Jan. The administration of this municipality has received a decree from The Hague, stating that our Government and that of Prussia have agreed to construct a paved road<\/em> from Aalten to the city of Bocholt in Prussia. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grateful for the tireless efforts of the Mayor and several members of the Board, this significant village, which counts over 7,000 souls, will now, in the course of this year, become a junction of paved roads, such as from the Prussian town of Oeding via Winterswijk, Aalten, and further to Arnhem, which road is already finished and opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, from Overijssel and Zutphen via Groenlo, Lichtenvoorde, and Aalten to the Prussian cities of Bocholt and Wesel, which are currently being worked on, and then also from Aalten with a branch via Dinxperlo and Anholt to the stations, which will presumably be located not far from the latter city, to be able to travel from there to both kingdoms by train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed very important for the residents of this Municipality, who not only established the two paved roads to the Winterswijk and Varsseveld areas at their own expense, but moreover voluntarily waived the Provincial subsidy of \u0192 4,000 for the benefit of the municipality of Wisch, that they have now finally attained, and will further attain, a benefit of which they have hitherto been deprived, as a result of their significant sacrifices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aalten is, in the fullest sense, healthy due to its location and pleasant in social interaction, and since places are now, as it were, coming closer together through easy communication, it will provide much pleasure for new residents, who are already gradually arriving.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
