In 1496 waren de kinderen van Storm eigenaren. Bouwman was toen Koene te Lindert. In 1618 en volgende jaren blijkt de boerderij in bezit te zijn van de jonkers van Coeverden, die op havezathe ’t Walfort woonden.

Het goed ‘de beide Essingen‘ was in 1647 in bezit van de familie Van Coeverden tot Walvaert en werd eind 17e eeuw door hen aan het Vorstendom Gelre en Graafschap Zutphen opgedragen. De familie werd daarna weer met het goed beleend. Beleend werden achtereenvolgens:

Johan Borchard van Coeverden in 1696, zoon Gooswijn Hendrik van Coeverden in 1722, Joan Adolph van Coeverden in 1740, Margaretha Sophia Augusta Reinira van Coeverden, dochter van Gooswijn Hendrik, in 1756.

Het goed kwam daarna in bezit van scholtenfamilies in het Woold. Beleend werd Berend Hijink in 1760, zijn broer Wander Hijink (tr. Gesina Hesselink) in 1768, zijn schoonzoon Hermanus Roerdink (tr. Janna Hijink) in 1775, zijn schoonzoon Berend Vriezen (tr. Barta Roerdink) in 1808. Berend Vriezen was in 1832 (met consorten) eigenaar van Oud Essink en (Groot) Essink.

In 1650 was het goed Essinck nog niet gesplitst in het latere (Groot) Essink en Oud Essink, wel had het goed twee bouwlieden: Tobe Essinck en Derck Essinck (Verpondingscohier, origineel register).
