In 1468 verklaarde de heer van Borculo, dat hij vernomen had dat zijn goed de Oosterhof een hofgoed was en dat daarbij als hofhorige goederen behoorden de twee goederen ten Westendorpe in Yserlo. Of behalve Westendorp hiermede ook Tuunte was begrepen, blijkt niet met zekerheid. Het lijkt echter wel waarschijnlijk, omdat Tuunte meestal werd aangeduid als Nijenhuis bij Westendorp.

Westendorp zelf, waarvan de bewoner dus hofhorig was in de Oosterhof te Suderwick, was lange tijd in bezit van de bewoner zelf. Een groot goed was het in 1618 niet, toen er maar 5½ molder bouwland en twee koeweiden bij behoorden. Feitelijk te klein voor een vol erf. In 1647 werd als oppervlakte 8 molder bouwland en een koeweide genoteerd. Was inmiddels een deel van het grasland gescheurd?
