Overview
The Roman Catholic Co-operative Shop ‘Ons Voordeel’ was a Roman Catholic co-operative retail association in Aalten. Its shop was at Markt 8, in the property at Markt 6-8.
The 1934 address directory records a co-operative shop at Markt 8; in 1967 the address is explicitly listed as R.K. Coöp. ‘Ons Voordeel’. The ownership history of the property shows that the association acquired it in 1925. By 1979 the property was no longer registered to the co-operative.
This Aalten association was a different organisation from the co-operative shop ‘Ons Voordeel’ in Bredevoort.
The history of the building, its residents and other occupants is recorded on the Place page for Markt 6-8.
