The local police station was based here until 2018. Today, the building houses a dental practice.
In februari 1963 werd het terrein op de hoek van Polstraat en de Bonifaciusstraat door de gemeente Aalten aangekocht met daarop het boerderijtje van de weduwe Scholten. Waarschijnlijk had men toen al de bedoeling om het te slopen en op het terrein een nieuw politiebureau en een aantal woningen te realiseren.
In 1965, the Aalten municipal council discussed the private sale of a section of the building plot, measuring 1,500 square metres, for the construction of a group and district office for the National Police (Rijkspolitie) in Aalten.
De Aaltense politie bleef hier gevestigd tot 2018, toen zij verhuisden naar de Köstersbulte. In het voormalige politiebureau aan de Polstraat heeft zich een tandartsenpraktijk gevestigd.
