‘t Walletje is a small street along the former rampart in Bredevoort’s historic centre. It links Koppelstraat with Vismarkt and runs for much of its length parallel to the curtain wall that once stood here, which explains its name.
It is one of the oldest surviving streets in Bredevoort and appears on the earliest maps. The 17th-century curtain wall built here must have stood almost on top of, or immediately alongside, the old town wall.
