Overview
The Frankenschool was a school for secondary special education for children with learning difficulties in Aalten. The school was located on Frankenstraat. In 2000 it merged with the Ludgerusschool in Lichtenvoorde and De Korenburg in Winterswijk to form Praktijkschool Pronova.
The Frankenschool provided education for children who needed additional support and formed part of the special secondary education sector. In this way, the school met an important regional need.
In 2000 the school merged with the Ludgerusschool in Lichtenvoorde and De Korenburg in Winterswijk. Together they formed the new Praktijkschool Pronova (PRaktijk ONderwijs VOor de Achterhoek).
In 2004 Pronova opened a new school building in Winterswijk. This brought an end to the use of the Frankenschool in Aalten. The building on Frankenstraat became vacant and was later demolished.
