Bernard Andries Roelvink was born on 22 November 1818 in Bredevoort, the son of Mayor Arnoldus Florentinus Roelvink and Elzabé Maria Theodora ten Cate.
From 1843 to 1852, Roelvink served as clerk of the cantonal court in Aalten; prior to this, he was a deputy public prosecutor at the district court (arrondissementsrechtbank) in Zutphen. On 6 April 1852, he was appointed notary in Aalten by Royal Decree, succeeding his father in the role.
From 8 March 1853 until his death, Roelvink was also a member of the Provincial States of Gelderland, representing the electoral district of Aalten.
Bernard Andries Roelvink remained unmarried and passed away on 17 April 1882 at house number 385 in Aalten (Haartsestraat 10).
Following his death, he was succeeded by J.B.W. Maitland, who until then had been a notary in Dinxperlo.
