In 1955, plans were announced for the first section of Beeklaan, running from Willemstraat to Slingelaan.
In 1965, Beeklaan was extended from Willemstraat to Varsseveldsestraatweg: “The partly completed connection between Willemstraat and Varsseveldsestraatweg, running northwards as an extension of Beeklaan, will, subject to approval by the municipal council, also be given the name Beeklaan.”
