Keizersweg, Aalten

As in many other streets in Aalten, house numbering on Keizersweg has changed several times. At the beginning of the 20th century, the buildings along Keizersweg still belonged to the hamlets of Heurne and Haart. From 1934 onwards, this area was considered part of the village of Aalten and the houses were given numbers on Keizersweg.

Initially, Keizersweg was built up only on the southern side and the houses were numbered consecutively, with both odd and even numbers. The Keizersbeek ran along the northern side of the road until it was rerouted in the late 1960s.

After 1967, development along Keizersweg increased on both the southern and northern sides. House numbering was then revised again: homes on the northern side were given odd numbers and those on the southern side even numbers.
