Molenkampsdijk, Aalten

Molenkampsdijk once began slightly south-east of the house at Polstraat 13 and continued through the area now occupied by the houses at Ahavestraat 24 and 26, as well as the houses behind them at Eligiusstraat 45–47.

The road followed a route along today’s Smildapad, a short section of Molenkamp and then past the houses on Bevrijding numbered 113, 95 and 87. Parts of the original route can still be recognised here.

Slightly north of Bevrijding 61, the road crosses the Keizersbeek. From that point onwards it still bears the name Molenkampsdijk. After about 170 metres there is a house, number 30, which still has a Molenkampsdijk address.

Not much further on, the original course of the road has been cut across by the Hamelandroute since the 1960s. From there, the route can now only be continued on foot or by bicycle, beneath the railway viaduct. Molenkampsdijk then continues, curving to the right around Karpermeer, and ends at Haartseweg, directly opposite the present-day Eskesweg.
