Markt in Bredevoort begins as a side street off Landstraat and runs northwards to ‘t Zand.
Markt is one of Bredevoort’s oldest streets. Halfway along are two side streets, Muizenstraat and Boterstraat, both now cul-de-sacs. The churchyard around St George’s Church was once enclosed by a wall. A small section of this wall still survives behind the church.
Most of Bredevoort’s nationally listed monuments are on Markt, including Markt 1, the Kuupershuusken, Markt 5, Markt 7 and St George’s Church. Numbers 4, 6 and 10 are also designated as municipally listed monuments.
