Tegenwoordig is er niets meer te zien. De laatste bewoners was de familie H.J. Klein Entink. Zij zijn verhuisd naar Ebbers (Varsseveldseweg 67).

Boerderij Luiks is volgens ons dezelfde als de boerderij die in het verleden als Klein Freers werd vermeld. Argumenten voor deze theorie:

  • Eigenaren van Luiks in 1832 waren Arent Jan Fukkink en Dela Greutink die op Klein Freers woonden.
  • Klein Freers wordt niet op kadasterkaarten vermeld maar komt wel voor in het bevolkingsregister van 1823, voor Luiks geldt het omgekeerde.
  • Op de kadasterkaart van 1832 komen, afgezien van Luiks, geen huizen voor die qua locatie identiek aan Klein Freers zouden kunnen zijn.
  • In het bevolkingsregister ligt het huisnummer van Klein Freers tussen Zoerens en Heisterkamp (1870-1890), Zoerens en de Limbarg (1890-1910), Lammers / Mate en de Limbarg (1910) en Lammers / Mate en Heisterkamp (1934-1967).
  • De naam Luiks (eigenlijk ‘Luuks’, Luiks is een vorm van hypercorrectie) komt van de voornaam Lucas. Lucas Frericks alias (Klein) Freers pachtte boerderij Klein Freers in 1687.
